Marching into the Future

Join the movement to give our marching band the premier space it deserves.

One of the thrills of Minnesota football is without a doubt the Golden Gopher Marching Band. Boasting a tradition of 117 years, they’ve electrified Minnesota fans and wowed stadiums across the country. Under the leadership of professor Tim Diem, the 300-member band fires up the fighting spirit with pre-game, halftime, and post-game entertainment.

To keep the band in top form and give these students nothing less than the best, a new 20,000-square-foot Marching Band facility will be built in TCF Bank Stadium. Featuring practice and preparation space truly worthy of the spirit and traditions this award-winning program has engendered, it is a nation-leading venue like no other. To make this vision a reality in full, a permanent endowment of $1.25 million will be raised. This endowment will also fund leadership awards to continue the development of young leaders and ensure that our talented students can continue their involvement in the band.
